July – August 2021: High summer in the garden

In July our greenhouse was installed and we’re really happy with the result. We’re now thinking ahead to winter salad crops we can sow and harvest in this new space, as well as hardy annuals for next year that we’ll sow in autumn.

The dahlia’s which I started off in spring have have flowered and it has been such a pleasure cutting them for the house.

We’ve been really impressed with persicaria ‘Firetail’ which we planted in spring. It has continued to flower over a long period and the pollinators seem to really love it.
The three new flower beds which we planted in March have put on a decent display for their first year (22/08/21)

As promised in my last post, here is an uninterrupted walk around the garden so you can see how the different sections fit together.

  1. Wow Guy – it’s almost as good as Dixter! Really lovely, what a lot of work. Wonderful! I love the water running through. xx

  2. Your garden looks amazing. It’s so colourful as well. The plants look lush and healthy. I really like the succulents in the old fire pit. What an achievement xx
